Dear Colleagues, Clients and Supporters,

Reflection can be a funny thing. You can choose to look back on the prior year with a focus on pride and positivity, or decide to focus on those things that perhaps did not go as well as you would have liked. For me, I just don’t see any other way to reflect on 2017 than to be joyously overwhelmed by the amazing accomplishments we made as a team.

2017 was a year of positive growth and changes. For starters, we focused on redefining our company culture. While not an easy task, it is crucial to ensure we continue to have a positive environment while sustaining assertive growth. As part of this initiative, we added roles to our safety program, including dedicated management and directors who ensure we are able to implement our Zero Accident Philosophy across every project. These are making a difference, and are noticeable to others as is evidenced by our winning the Subcontractor of the Month from the DISD for excellence in safety execution.

Another part of our culture that has shown positive results is our ability to promote key personnel from within, Billy Davis, now our VP of Operations and Yesenia Garcia, now our VP of Marketing and Sales. Congratulations to these fine team members for their continued contributions. Through our focus on training and mentoring, we are creating opportunities for our excellence-minded team of professionals to grow in an entrepreneurial way, while maintaining the rich foundation of solid craftsmanship, responsiveness and a focus on accountability.

Of course, managing growth can be a challenge, and I’m proud to say that the team stepped up in a big way, keeping all our projects on track, on time and within budget while we moved to a new home office. Part of our expansion included the addition of equipment, trucks and trailers so we can keep on top of the rigorous demands of our industry and give our team the best equipment to do their jobs.

It’s not all business as usual, as we were awarded the 2017 Luna Award for Established Construction Firm of the year, another major honor that could not have happened without our amazing team.

We celebrated our summer where we had the largest field crew in play in the history of the company with a celebration that included a band, great food and some giveaways to a much-deserved team. Anyone in construction knows you have to celebrate surviving the summer, and it’s even more exciting when you are managing more projects than ever before.

When you have the best year in your 16-year history, it’s time to take stock of your communication and information. After all, it’s an exciting time to be a part of NTD, so we decided to help everyone understand how amazing our company is, and learn more about us. Therefore, we embarked upon a campaign that included rebranding with a new website so we can more effectively share the recent growth and successes while also allowing our clients, future clients and future team members have a better understanding of who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

2017 has been an amazing year, filled with exciting growth and many challenges. We came together to overcome issues and end the year positively. It makes me extremely excited to see what this amazing team can do in 2018. Stay tuned!

The Engineer has made several site visits and every time he has been on site he has commented on how fantastic everything looks and that NTD has hit every mark that he laid out for the project. The last time we spoke I had mentioned that the Trade Partners are the heart and soul of the projects, your group has reinsured this for me and has made a great point when I talk to newer PMs in our organization. A lot of times we get caught up in day to day office work and sometimes forget that the real ROCKSTARS of the projects are our tradesmen/tradeswomen, projects do not move without them. All of your field hands that I have meet so far have my respect for the pride/work ethic/knowledge they have for their craft. I also want to add on a side note that I am very impressed with your organization and definitely look forward to many more projects in the future. I will be speaking highly of your organization in our internal meetings so your group gets the opportunity to show everyone else with McGough what y’all are made of and what your group brings to the table.”
